9th Bruges European Business Conference

Taxation for a Seamless and Competitive Internal European Market

The College of Europe is pleased to announce that the ninth Bruges European Business Conference “Taxation for a Seamless and Competitive Internal European Market", will be held at the College’s premises in Bruges on Thursday 22 March ;The purpose of the conference, co-organised with Deloitte, is to bring together European political and business leaders to discuss how the EU and its Member States can create tax systems compatible with new business models and corporate strategies while ensuring equity and efficiency.  This year, Pierre Moscovici Commissioner for Economic and Financial Affairs, Taxation and the Customs Union will address the conference through a video speech followed by a Q&A session with a representative of DG TAXUD. Guest speakers include Gianmarco Monsellato, EU Tax Policy leader, Deloitte; Prof. Marcel Gérard, Visiting Professor, College of Europe; Prof. Luc De Broe, Head of the Institute for Tax Law, KU Leuven; Andreas Strub, Head of Unit; General Secretariat Council of the European Union; Paul Tang, MEP, Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats. The conference afternoon session will feature two policy workshops on the following topics: The Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base; VAT and VAT Reform for e-commerce.
