Dr. Magdi Habib has been the Director General for the CanmetMINING branch of NRCan Lands and Minerals Sector since 2010. He leads all science and technology activities related to Green Mining Innovation in collaboration with stakeholders to support the development and commercialization of green mining technologies.  Prior to this position, Dr. Habib held a variety of positions in the public and private sectors, including NRCan CanmetENERGY Technology Centre, the Noranda Technology Centre and the Ministry of the Environment of Alberta. He obtained his Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from McGill University.
