Dr. Greinert is a Biophysicist and the Head of the Department for Molecular Cell Biology at the Elbe Hospitals in Lower Saxony, Germany.
His main interests include epigenetics of photocarcinogenesis, microRNAs as biomarkers for skin cancer development and progression; primary and secondary prevention of skin cancer; and development, implementation and evaluation of German Skin Cancer Screening.
Dr. Greinert is a member of several working groups of the German Commission on Radiological Protection. He has been working as an expert at IARC and the European Commission dealing with skin cancer and health risks connected to natural and artificial UV radiation. He is also the Secretary General of EUROSKIN - an independent non-profit scientific society co-ordinating collaborative actions between European professionals active in the fields of primary and secondary prevention to reduce the incidence and mortality of skin cancer.
