European Disaster Preparedness Management

-Improving Resilience: Action Plans, Monitoring and Cooperation Strategies-

Disasters can hit at any time and do not acknowledge political frontiers. The actual outbreak of a disaster like flooding, storms, fires or earthquakes cannot be prevented from happening. A good preparation and well organized Crisis Management is crucial to protect lives and property from disasters. The European Union intends to facilitate reinforced co-operation between the Member States in the field of civil protection. Aspects to be considered:- Compliance of existing emergency plans and rising intensity of disasters- Being up to date with the latest tools for monitoring of endangered areas- Guarantee immediate return to day-to-day business to save time and money- Undertake smooth and effective international teamworkThe conference focus on real events and lessons learnt which give the participants the inspiration to improve their own disaster preparedness plan. Attendees will learn about new ways of cross border cooperation, best usage of the financial instrument of the EU. They will improve their emergency management skills to get back earlier to their day-to-day business.
