Personalised User-Centric services

The European Commission is pleased to announce the organisation of a joint workshop series, focusing on seamless personalised services and personalised user-centric services.

The event on “Personalised user centric services”, November 25th will focus on user-empowerment and how modern technology can transform the way citizens communicate; and the ways that governments enabling the citizens to access services at their own convenience at a minimal cost.Sharing public information and allowing access to citizen records can help improve transparency, thus encouraging more effective involvement of citizens and businesses in the policy-making process. Inclusive access to personal information must be available to all those who are entitled to them, nevertheless current policies and practices can make it harder for people to gain access. The impact on citizens will be discussed in order to the chances of unequal outcomes.Designing services around user needs results in increased effective eGovernment.Current application of customised eGovernment services includes various areas of applications including enrolment in schools and universities, online requests and receipts of civil certificates, submission of online tax declarations as well as various tracking forms for allocation of benefits to interested citizens. In short, customised user-centric eGovernment services aim to become a ‘one-stop-shop’ which will enable citizens to save time and effort in their dealings with Governmental services.
