The Role of Mentor

The Role of Mentor

Programme5.45pm registration, tea and coffee 6.15pm presentation7.45pm closeVenueDundee Hilton,Earl Grey PlaceDundeeDD1 4DEMentoring is an essential leadership skill and has been growing in popularity since the 1970’s but what is it and what does it entail? Mentoring is a process by which a partnership is formed to develop the application of skills. It will, if done well, allow for enhanced learning and growth in order to develop professional effectiveness.Mentoring isn’t the same as coaching but the practice of acting as a guide, advisor and counsellor. It can be a hugely rewarding experience for both parties and should allow new skills to develop, encourage new ways of thinking, improve communication skills and provide a great sense of personal satisfaction. The workshop will look at the basic principles of mentoring, best practice and ground rules. It will also provide an opportunity delegates to have any questions, queries or mentoring dilemmas answered.
