Nonviolent Communication

For millenniums the prevalent approach to solve conflicts and difficult situation in relations has been about getting power over the other and enforce rather than coordinate meaning in this webinar we will explore NVC as an alternative method.

For millenniums the prevalent approach to solve conflicts and difficult situation in relations has been about getting power over the other and enforce rather than co-ordinate meaning. Many conflict resolution models therefore escalate rather than reduce conflict. One approach that transcends the prevalent ‘power-over’ mentality towards ‘power-with’ is the Nonviolent Communication approach (NVC) developed by Rosenberg. Building on similarities (universal human needs) to negotiate differences (diverse perspectives and strategies), NVC can be a powerful resource for cross-cultural trainers, consultants and mediators for managing conflicts so that everybody’s needs and values get heard, considered and eventually met. In this webinar, core NVC principles will be explored, challenging our assumptions about what is possible between humans. Robert Krzisnik, MSc, psychologist and psychotherapist, has been working with groups and individuals for 24 years, in a wide spectrum of environments: from corporate to educational to interethnic conflict zones. His main areas of expertise are: Nonviolent Communication, conflict resolution, conflict mediation, dialogue, personal growth, and he works in this areas as a mediator, trainer, team-coach, facilitator, from Slovenia to Myanmar, from Norway to Romania. Robert is a certified trainer with the Center for Nonviolent Communication.
