President's Dinner

Held in honour of Friends of Europe

Held in honour of Friends of Europe’s President Viscount Étienne Davignon, our annual President’s Dinner is one of the highlights of the Brussels agenda, renowned for bringing together a few hundred European personalities from the worlds of politics, business, civil society and the media for an intellectually stimulating and entertaining evening. The prestigious dinner follows our State of Europe VIP roundtable, beginning with a welcome cocktail at 19.00. Guests of honour always prompt chuckles among participants for their insightful and humorous account of the ups and downs of their working lives. Friends of Europe’s Trustees, European Commissioners and Directors General, members of the European Parliament, other senior officials from the EU institutions and European governments including ambassadors and ministers, leaders from industry, NGOs and civil society, and senior media representatives are all on the guest list. Previous guests include José Manuel Barroso, President of the European Commission, Princess Sarvath El Hassan of Jordan, Duncan Niederauer, Chief Executive Office of NYSE Euronext, Jacek Rostowski, Polish Finance Minister, George Soros, Founder & Chairman of the Open Society Foundation, Vaira Vike-Freiberga, Former Vice-Chairman of the Reflection Group on the Future of Europe and Former President of Latvia, and Pierre Vimont, Executive Secretary General of the External Action Service, to name a few.
