IPT Specialisation Course Child Protection

This specialisation course equips participants with specialised knowledge and skills to become effectively involved in monitoring, advisory, and executive functions to protect children in crisis areas.

Aim & Content: Children are disproportionately affected by armed conflict in a variety of ways, and with long-lasting effects. Through well prepared experts, children affected by armed conflict can efficiently be protected, their basic needs met, and their rights safeguarded. This specialisation course equips participants with specialised knowledge and skills to become effectively involved in monitoring, advisory, and executive functions to protect children in crisis areas. It aims to foster discussion and exchange of best practices and lessons learnt between experts of various organisational backgrounds.Topics covered include: Child rights assessment and monitoring; strategies for prevention of child rights violations; strategies to reduce the impact of armed conflict on children (child recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration); child rights based and child-participatory approaches; involvement of children in rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts; instruments and actors for the implementation of strategies for child protection, monitoring and rehabilitationScholarships for participants from non-OSCE states available - deadline 7 december!
