The 4th Kufstein Summer School for Arts Management will focus on the question whether we have to reflect a conceivable end of national cultural identities to strengthen a special European approach or whether we have to reformulate the tasks of national cultural institutions and artistic projects to understand the value of national experiences, traditions and approaches in a new way.The 4th Kufstein Summer School for Arts Management will gather experts from European and non-European countries as well as artists, politicians, arts managers and students from different fields to discuss this topic on a theoretical as well as practical level.Central questions will be:What are the strategies of the cultural institutes of European countries when reflecting not only the national but also the European cultural identity? How can cultural institutions extend their actions within the process of globalization and what kind of practical measurements can be successful within this repositioning? How can co-operations be improved between artists, arts administration and cultural managers, cultural institutions on a European and international level? What are best-practice examples for successful exchanges reflecting national identities? What support can artists obtain within this context? What effects on subcultural scenes are observable? What kinds of new jobs for cultural managers can be created in the fields of cultural exchange? How can networks like the EUNIC and other cultural cooperation platforms on an international level gain a new visibility? Are synergies, for example between culture and sports, a future oriented model for a new international flexibility, using cultural events to strengthen different fields of the society?Short factsLanguage: EnglishTarget groups: graduate students of arts management, cultural studies, event management, tourism management, political sciences and heritage management; interested students of other fields and professionals/cultural managers are welcome.Costs: 490€, incl. conference fee, conference papers, accommodation (shared rooms), breakfast, dinner, travel costs during seminar, entrance fees (excl. travelling expenses for arrival and departure, optional excursions)Participants make their own travel arrangements (May 12 & 18)Visits plannedSmall Theatre of Palea EpidavrosAncient Theatre of Epidavros, Museum and Gymnasium of EpidavrosAncient City of MycenaeFor further information please contactMs. Angela Scalet, BAProject Management Kufstein Summer Schoolsummerschool(at)fh-kufstein.ac.at
