Belgium has a high standard of education; however, there is a growing shortage not only of scientific and technological workers but also of skilled workers to meet employers’ needs. According to a recent survey, 30% of new hires in Belgium do not meet the required standards. Companies rely heavily on local recruitment, yet it is becoming increasingly difficult for companies to fill vacancies on this basis.At this lunch, organized by AmCham Belgium's Human Resources Committee, speakers Fons Leroy, Managing Director, VDAB and Marc Vandeleene, PR & Communication Manager, ManpowerGroup Belgium will address and share their views on the demands of the labor market and talent gap.Mr. Leroy will specifically share his insights on talent gap policy issues, including matching education to labor market demand, sustainable human resources, on-the-job training, and working with competencies.
