UK AD / Biogas Operating and Engineering Course in January 2014

We are repeating our highly successful in-depth biogas and anaerobic digestion training course with a half-day study tour in the UK.

The Renewable Energy Association (REA) and the International Biogas and Bioenergy Center of Competence (IBBK Fachgruppe Biogas) are delighted to announce the next 5-day long in-depth Biogas Operators & Planners Course. We are repeating our highly successful in-depth biogas and anaerobic digestion training course with a half-day study tour in the UK. The 5-day training course is to enhance your knowledge on anaerobic digestion and the sustainability of biogas plants. The UK biogas and anaerobic digestion training course is especially relevant for biogas plant operators with the main focus on optimising digester biology and operating parameters. The course is also suitable for those wishing to acquire a deeper knowledge of the biological process in AD. In partnership with REA Biogas it will be delivered by German engineers from IBBK with many years of practical experience dealing with all sorts of AD plant with a wide range of feedstocks. The engineers delivering the course content are specialists in understanding and optimising the complex biology, feedstock selection and operating parameters of AD plants - their teaching is the highlight of our AD training courses in the UK since 2011.Monday, 27 January 2014Welcome to the seminarOverview of the biogas industry in Europe and UK and its future developmentIntroduction to biogas and anaerobic digestion technologyFundamentals of biological processOptional: get together and dinnerTuesday, 28 January 2014Insitu process control and trouble shootingProcess monitoring and practical plant operationChoosing the right substrate and combining it for the optimal digestion inpute1/2-day field trip to an agricultural biogas plantWednesday, 29 January 2014Process parametersMeasurement and data record for process optimisationPlant attendance & daily operationCogeneration to heat and power – Gas utilisationThursday, 30 January 2014Biogas specific building materialsProcess and external heat and gas engineeringDigestate standard and digestate utilisationBiogas upgrading and different pathways of biogas utilisationFriday, 31 January 2014Organic waste materials and their gas yieldsSafety features of biogas plants and equipmentSafety regulations in UKReport and discussion with practical operators from Germany and UKHand out of the certificates
