Learning benefits individuals, the economy and society as a whole. Those who participate in learning are likely to be healthier, happier and better paid than those who do not. The wider benefits of learning include improved health, confidence, self-esteem and resilience. For someone who is homeless, engaging in learning activities can help to build social networks away from the streets and the skills developed can lay the foundations for more formal training and pathways to employment as a longer-term route out of homelessness. Therefore learning should be at the heart of any plan to support adults facing the challenge of homelessness. Homelessness services can play a pivotal role in providing such activities, and this conference will share practical steps and approaches that services can take to support their clients.BY THE END OF THIS EVENT YOU WILL HAVE:increased your knowledge of adult learning policy, research and practicereflected on your own practice and identified ideas and resources to use with clients
