Overview: This course will introduce you to the traditional methodology of Sensory Descriptive Profiling and teach you how to set up, manage and maintain a Sensory Trained Panel. Practical sessions throughout the day will enable you to consolidate your knowledge.
Topics covered include:
Introduction to Sensory Descriptive Profiling
Panellist recruitment, screening and selection of the right panellists
Effective management of the panellists, including discussing a panel leader’s ethical code of conduct
Panel leader facilitation skills and how to deal with a difficult panellist
Measurement of the panel’s performance and how this can be improved
Overview of alternative descriptive analysis methods, e.g. Flash Profiling, TDS, Progressive Profiling
