With profound shifts in how employees are learning: Gamification, Augmented Learning, Virtual Reality, Cloud LMS and more, the traditional classroom model seems hopelessly outdated. L&D practitioners know this, but find it harder to change mindsets inside their organisation and empower the technological aspects.
This new digital focus for HR is not simply about technology; it changes the way we serve and support employees. Our role in HR and L&D is clear — simplify. We need to ensure that these tools are accessible, engaging and effective.
We believe this is an important response to help L&D and HR professionals transition to a future-focused learning approach.
Research clearly shows that today’s modern learner is short on time, rushes to learn and wants to learn in his or her own way.
Learning teams will focus more on “experience” and less on “program design” and therefore end-to-end design thinking will spread throughout L&D; curation and knowledge sharing will grow.
Managers will need to take more responsibility for supporting learning journeys and building social teams. L&D can’t organise everything that everyone needs to learn but can play a big part in making it happen!
