Emerging Trends and Future of Nanomaterials for Human Health - MAD-Nano16

Madeira International Conference - Deadline for Abstract submission extended until 9 of October

Nanotechnology and nanomaterials have gained enough attention in recent years also due to its significant role in the field of medical sciences.

This conference is of multidisciplinary nature, covering various disciplines of science related to nanomaterials and nanotechnology. This meeting aims at bringing together students, researchers, faculty members, and experts from health systems (e.g. Hospitals) and companies on a common platform to present the most recent achievements and views on the field, discuss and look to the future of nanomaterials for human health applications.

LOCATION & VENUE

The MAD-NANO16 will be held in Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal from November 17 to 20, 2016.

The islands of Madeira and Porto Santo were officially discovered by the Portuguese navigators Tristão Vaz Teixeira, Bartolomeu Perestrelo and João Gonçalves Zarco in 1419 and are considered the first territorial discovery of the period of the “Portuguese Age of Discovery”.

With a subtropical-Mediterranean climate, a Laurisilva forest considered by UNESCO as natural World Heritage Site and 2170 km of levadas (aqueducts that carry water from the northwest coast of the Island to the agricultural regions in the south), Madeira Islands attracts tourists from all over the world throughout the year. It has also become a destination where people come to work and live in a safe and beautiful environment. The Island is well-served by infrastructures (airport, roads, industrial free zone, hospitals, university) and is well-connected to mainland Portugal and all the main European cities.

The MAD-NANO16 will take place at the  VIDAMAR RESORTS - Madeira, a magnificent 5-star hotel. The hotel is located on the south coast of the island and benefits from an exclusive oceanfront position. It has a contemporary style with elegant décor throughout and spacious modern rooms with balconies overlooking the ocean and beautifully landscaped gardens.  The resort also has a Sea SPA, which features a range of sea water-inspired therapies and treatments.
