For our Annual General Meeting on 11 July, ecpa2.0 will be discussing be discussing the practice of lobbying in a regulated environment. Whereas some sectors are highly regulated (such as alcohol, tobacco or pharmaceutical industries), legislators are currently examining whether and what rules should apply to some new sectors (e.g. sharing economy, fintech, internet of things). This raises many fascinating questions concerning the justification for regulation in these industries, the case for self- and co-regulation, the link between regulation and reputation or the best way public affairs practitioners can share information with decision-makers and other stakeholders.
