#EPBootCamp

Our one-day intensive training on how the European Parliament really works - and how to work with it.

Many people in the Brussels sphere know about EU policies and the European Institutions on a general level, but few actually really know and remember the details, and as they say: the devil is in the detail. We have launched the #EPBootCamp because we detected the immense need to bridge the gap between the theoretical and superficial knowledge, and what is actually required of those who need to work, deal, and interact with the European Parliament. Taught by former officials of the European Parliament, with a massive experience working in the Parliament. The #EPBootCamp focuses on those aspects that simply cannot be learned from reading a book.

  • Date: Thursday, 14 September 2017, from 09:00 – 16:30
  • Venue: at the euraffex headquarters, Rue Archimede, 11, just in front of the Berlyamont building, in a Maison de Maître of 1896, and forms part of Brussels City heritage.
  • Fees: 800 euros + VAT, includes: materials, lunch, and refreshments.

The #EPBootCamp we will discuss, among many other topics:

  • The complex organization of the European Parliament;
  • The political groups – who are they? Who do they ally with?
  • Who are the key players in the European Parliament at the various stages of the legislative process?
  • Which titles seem important but have little influence in reality– and who are the MEPs with power and insight?
  • Understanding how an MEP’s office functions, and how important the staff can be;
  • And much, much more.
