Serious Eye Damage and Eye Irritation

The last in a series of three webinars with the PETA International Science Consortium

The PETA International Science Consortium, an organisation that promotes reliable and relevant regulatory testing approaches that project human health and the environment while eliminating the use of animals, and Chemical Risk Manager, have teamed up again to present a free webinar series focusing on non-animal methods and testing strategies that can be used to meet REACH requirements. This series updates the popular 2014-2015 webinar series and will reflect the significant progress in the use and acceptance of non-animal methods that has occurred in recent years.

Drs Norman and Adriaens will first discuss the drivers of in vivo classification for serious eye damage and eye irritation in order to specify the requirements for achieving full replacement of the regulatory animal test. They will then describe the available in vitro methods and the ways in which they can be used alone or in combination in various testing strategies, such as top-down or bottom-up approaches.

Speakers:

Dr Els Adriaens, Ghent University

Dr Kim Norman, Senior Scientist, Product Stewardship, Burt's Bees

Do sign up for the webinar even if you are not available to attend on the day, as all registrants will be sent the slides and video ;
