‘More Security for the EU and its citizens’ is what the Permanent Structured Cooperation (PESCO), aims to add to European Security. The new initiative signed by 25 EU member states will enhance cooperation in the area of security and defence by allowing them to jointly develop capabilities. The pursuit for ways in which the V4 countries will contribute to European security plans has begun. The Czech Republic has already volunteered to join 3 projects relating to military mobility, the joint European medical sphere and the centre for European Training missions. Moreover, Central European states aim to play a bigger role however, the challenges that PESCO will encounter on its road to European Strategic Autonomy are left to be discussed.
The expert round table will be held under the Chatham House rules and is on personal invitation only. The aim of similar events organized by the Think Visegrad in Brussels is to create a platform for meetings of leading researchers of Central Europe with EU decision makers to exchange views and hold an open discussion.
The event is financially supported by the International Visegrad Fund.
You can register until Sunday evening , at the email adress provided in the invitation.
