With rapid technological advances in information technology, the ability to utilise and manage information more effectively has become a critical component of naval warfare. Harnessing the power of Artificial Intelligence, defending networks against complex cyber threats, and developing combat information systems to enhance command and control are all crucial to increasing information superiority and gaining an operational advantage. Therefore, navies are recognising the need to prioritise ‘Information Warfare’, to maintain strength in the maritime sphere.
With this in mind, and building on the Royal Navy's Information Warrior Exercise, the two-day conference will explore themes such as: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Information Exploitation, Cyber Electromagnetic Activity (CEMA), Command Control Communication and Computers (C4), Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR).
In particular, there will be a focus on information systems, machine learning, new methods of data analysis, the growing need for automation in naval assets, and strategies for naval cyber warfare and defence.
