A Chinese horoscope advised that 2018 (Year of the Dog) was a “tumultuous” year, and the upcoming Year of the Pig will usher in some much needed fortune. Let’s certainly hope so – at least as far as key export control developments in Asia Pacific countries that occurred in latter 2018 and on into 2019!

Fortunes aside, this webinar will take a look at these developments: the Australian government’s comprehensive review of its Defense Trade Control Act, the Korean government’s introduction of new export license exceptions, the Japanese’ significant expansion of its “Foreign End-User List,” and the Malaysian government’s first directive on the implementation of proliferation finance control measures. From the commencement of implementation of the Philippines’ Strategic Trade Management Act (STMA) to the likely adoption of Thailand’s long-awaited dual-use trade control legislation, and the next steps in China’s planned new export control law unfolding, 2019 is looking to be equally active and impactful from an export control and compliance perspective.
