The Briefing will be co-organised by CTA, the European Commission (DG Devco), the ACP Secretariat and CONCORD.
The Brussels Briefing 54 discusses the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, examining the status of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and the progress made with respect to Zero Hunger (SDG 2) on agriculture, food security and nutrition in ACP countries.
In particular, the Briefing features an exchange of views and experiences on:
the policies, practices and partnerships that have been successful in driving the goal of
SDG 2, with a focus on landmark developments at local, national and regional levels;
the achievements and best experiences in developing partnerships for SDG 2
implementation;
the next steps on SDG 2 delivery.
Lessons are be to shared from both the ACP and EU, with a discussion of the factors for success,their replicability, and potential for upscaling.
Objectives of the Briefing: To improve information sharing and promote networking, CTA, the DG DEVCO from the European Commission, the ACP Secretariat, Concord and various media organise since 2007 bimonthly briefings on key issues and challenges for agriculture and rural development in the context of EU/ACP cooperation.
Target group: Around 150 ACP-EU policy-makers, civil society groups, research networks, development practitioners, private sector representatives and international organisations based in Brussels. Outputs: A short report and a Reader in printed and electronic format will be produced shortly after the meeting. Input and comments before, during and after the meetings will be included in the Briefings Website
