Small and medium-scale CHP from biomass (webinar)

This webinar will look at the current state of cogeneration in Europe and the role of small-medium scale biomass CHP.

Currently about 20% of cogeneration production in the EU comes from renewables. CHP from biomass can help increase this, and with it the overall share of renewables in heating and cooling. Small and medium scale solutions are expected to have the largest growth potential, with new technologies increasing their efficiency and sustainability.

This webinar will look at the current state of cogeneration in Europe and the role of small-medium scale biomass CHP. New technologies being developed through the EU research and innovation programme Horizon 2020 will be presented, as will a new stakeholder platform, which aims to increase cooperation in the sector.

Q&A

BIOCOGEN 2030

BIOCOGEN 2030 is a stakeholder community dedicated to biomass-based combined heat and power (CHP) systems that has been launched by partners of two EU funded projects: BLAZE and SmartCHP. The platform will foster knowledge exchange, gather feedback on R&D activities and enhance networking in the area, with the overall mission of increasing the share of bioenergy in the cogeneration market by the end of the decade.

The BLAZE and SmartCHP projects have received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme under Grant Agreements number 815284 and 815259 respectively.
