Everybody loves quality: both at the organizational as well as at the personal level, we want to use quality suppliers and contractors, deliver quality products, have quality relationships or even spend quality time with our loved ones.

But what exactly is quality? What does it include, and how it can be defined? A common tenet in quality is that “quality is in the eye of the beholder”, but what do we mean by that? Is quality subjective or objective?

Moreover, apart from those general questions about quality, how can we manage quality in our projects? While the meaning of the project schedule is quite clear, is it so with the meaning of project quality? Is it project or rather product quality? And who is responsible for the quality of the project and its artifacts?

Even more specifically, how does the PM² Project Management Methodology approaches the management of quality? What are its specific plans, reports and responsibilities? How does PM² deal with the even more unclear concept of configuration management?
