How can we close the East-West healthcare investment gap in Europe?

Public healthcare spending in CEE countries has grown over time, but at a slower pace than GDP growth and today the average public spending per capita can be up to 5 times lower than in the EU5, with large variations across countries.

Underinvestment in healthcare together with inefficiencies in the way available resources are allocated are important factors in persisting gaps in access to healthcare and innovative medicines between countries. Patients in CEE countries have access to twice fewer innovative medicines, after waiting much longer than those living in EU5 countries. Building on a report developed by EFPIA and PwC, this virtual event will focus on the reforms which would be needed for CEE countries to meet future healthcare challenges and be financially sustainable over the longer.

Register now to join us on 4 October to discuss how we can make a difference for patients, while ensuring the sustainability of our social protection.
