The ‘Mind the Gap’ debate

a debate organised by LOW Associates Brussels SRL to explore the challenges to the UK's new third country status with the EU.

The ‘Mind the Gap’ event is a debate organised by LOW Associates Brussels SRL to explore the challenges to the UK's new third country status with the EU, and what UK organisations and businesses need to do to create effective relationships in Brussels.  

Our distinguished panel, chaired by LOW’s Strategic Counsel, Lord Andrew Lansley (former UK Government Cabinet Minister), will discuss a research report prepared by LOW’s policy experts which  

  • defines the challenges brought about by the UK's new third country status with the EU;  

  • evaluates the ‘gap’ which British businesses are experiencing; 

  • and explores possible solutions to the problems of operating out of a third country, using the experience of other third countries like the ;

A full copy of the ‘Mind the Gap’ report will be sent to you after the event closes, and there will be a ‘watch again’ facility available on the LOW website.

The panel will consist of experienced industry experts from the EU, UK, and US, all of whom play an active role in Brussels. Panellists confirmed so far (more to come): 

  • Susan Danger is CEO of the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AmCham EU), which speaks for American companies committed to Europe on trade, investment and competitiveness ; AmCham EU was voted Best EU Trade Association of the year in 2021 by Susan was named by POLITICO as one of the top 20 women influencers in Brussels in ;

  • Ian Wright CBE is the Chief Executive of the UK’s Food and Drink Federation (FDF), the representative voice of the companies and trade associations that make up the UK's largest manufacturing ; Since he took the helm at the Federation in 2015, he has overseen a major overhaul of the organisation, including a massively expanded ;Ian was formerly Diageo’s corporate relations director responsible for Diageo’s reputation as it became one of the world's most trusted and respected ;

  • Ben Butters is Chief Executive Officer of EUROCHAMBRES, which acts as the eyes, ears and voice of the Chambers and business ;EUROCHAMBRES represents over 20 million businesses in Europe through 45 members (43 national associations of chambers of commerce and industry and two transnational chamber organisations) and a European network of 1700 regional and local chambers. More than 93% of these businesses are small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs). Chambers’ member businesses employ over 120 million.
