EIC Corporate Day with VELUX

The European Innovation Council and VELUX Group invite EIC beneficiaries to apply to our joint EIC Corporate Day on 6 and 7 March 2023, taking place physically in Copenhagen (Denmark). VELUX is looking for EIC-funded startups/scaleups to work together in the construction industry.

The European Innovation Council and VELUX Group invite EIC beneficiaries to apply to our joint EIC Corporate Day on 6 and 7 March 2023, taking place physically in Copenhagen (Denmark). VELUX is looking for EIC-funded startups/scaleups to work together addressing today’s challenges in the construction ;Does this challenge you?Make sure to APPLY until 1 December 2022 then! The VELUX Group has created better living environments for people around the world for more than 80 years, by making the most of daylight and fresh air through the roof. VELUX’s product programme includes roof windows and modular skylights, decorative blinds, sun screening products and roller shutters, as well as installation and smart home solutions. These products help to ensure a healthy and sustainable indoor climate, for work and learning, for play and aims to play its role in driving and pioneering the transition towards sustainable buildings that are healthy for both people and the planet together with partners, as systems thinking will be needed to address today’s challenges facing the construction industry. VELUX invites the most innovative EIC-funded companies to join and follow in the mantra of its founder to deliver on this mission: “One experiment is better than 1000 expert assumptions” - Villum Kann beneficiaries selected to join the EIC Corporate Day with VELUX will have access to specific training, pitching, pre-arranged meetings with top decision-makers from VELUX and the possibility to network with high-level partners and like-minded innovators in a dedicated physical event in Copenhagen (Denmark). Applications are open to all EIC beneficiaries that are working on innovations related to the following challenges:Challenge 1 – Product sustainability: For products to be sustainable, they should be produced and/or consumed in a socially responsible way, does not deplete natural, nonrenewable resources, and does not harm the environment, , using low-impact materials, alternative material technology (, biobased materials), alternative design and production methods (, design for disassembly), material sourcing workflows, waste management, 2 – Circular economy: Circular construction aims to close building material loops by reusing, sharing, leasing, repairing, refurbishing, upcycling or recycling. This will require initiatives such as circular material and product workflows (, design for reuse), product lifetime extension schemes (, material reuse and upcycling models), 3 – Energy-efficient homes and buildings: Making buildings more energy-efficient will contribute significantly to the EU achieving its energy and climate goals. This could be addressed using photovoltaic and thermal solar systems, energy-efficient heating and cooling systems, 4 – Healthy homes and buildings: Europe’s buildings are, on average, old, inefficient, and not particularly healthy. The aim is to provide better indoor climates that safeguard the health of individuals exposed to them, by considering daylighting systems, air cleaning/filtration systems, ventilation systems, sound insulation (, acoustic panels), 5 – Smart homes and buildings: Smart home devices continue making inroads to drive convenience, safety, and optimised indoor climate, in the form of smart locks, smart heating and ventilation systems, sensors and sensor boxes, building/device management systems, 6 – Digital tools: Architects and consulting engineers make increasing use of digital tools throughout the building design process.
