Highlights - ENVI position on the General budget of the European Union for the financial year 2025 - Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety

On 4 September 2024, the ENVI draft opinion on the draft EU budget for 2025 will be consideredMembers will discuss the ENVI position on the draft EU budget for 2025 based on the draft opinion in form of a letter proposed by the Chair Antonio Decaro. He calls in his document, inter alia, to ensure the necessary human and financial resources for the fast implementation of the legislation adopted in the last legislative cycle in the areas of climate, environment, food safety and health, and focusing on a range of key priorities, such as climate mitigation and adaptation, just transition and circular economy. The Rapporteur also stresses the importance of strengthening the Union's role on the international arena by increasing the funding for the Union's actions tackling environment protection and climate change globally.Source : © European Union, 2024 - EP
