ITA (before Instituto Tecnológico del Agua) is an Universidad Politecnica de Valencia research group. Our activity is focused on research and development dealing with urban water engineering and management. The ITA is formed by a group of water professionals consolidated over the last thirty years in Valencia and which originated around the Fluid Mechanics Chair at the UPV. Problems and concerns connected with water are developing at great speed in our society. The sustainable management of water is now taking the foreground in many parts of the world, a tendency which will only accentuate in the future. New concepts and new tools are needed to enable proper sustainable management of urban water, which is why the efforts of ITA focus on efficiency and sustainability, incorporating the the technical background which our work has always had.
The IBBK (International Biogas and Bioenergy Centre of Competence) is a combination and network of experts and companies, as well as groups of interest and educational institutes in the field of biogas and bioenergy.The work of the IBBK covers regional, national and international activities. The Centre of Competence is setting up an additional impulse beyond the traditional lobby work and is striving to cover the growing demand for independent, neutral dissemination of information in the field of biogas and bioenergy. The main emphasis is in educational and project work.
BUILD UP serves the needs of building professionals, public authorities and occupants alike. The key aim is to reduce the energy consumption of buildings across Europeby transferring best practices to the market and fostering their uptake. BUILD UP will also keep you updated about EU energy policy for buildings.
The Dutch Association of Environmental Professionals (Vereniging van Milieuprofessionals, VVM) is the network for environmental professionals in the Netherlands. The VVM supports all environmental professionals, both experienced and young talented. Criterion for becoming a member is the field of activity, not the education received. Because of this diversity in backgrounds, employers and expertise, the VVM is an attractive and inspiring platform for its members. The open culture promotes contacts among colleagues, and discussions and opinions about every possible environmental subject.The VVM is engaged to professionalize her members through its environmental magazine (Tijdschrift Milieu), meetings on various themes, congresses and courses. An independent and professional attitude is pivotal to all VVM activities. The VVM applies a code of conduct for environmental professionals.
The Network of Regional Governments for Sustainable Development, nrg4SD is an international organisation representing regional governments at the global level. The network promotes understanding, collaboration and partnerships in sustainable development and seeks greater international recognition of the importance of the contribution which regions make to sustainable development.nrg4SD was formed by the regional governments that attended the Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development (2002), and was legally registered in 2004 as an "International non-profit-making association". today it represents more than 45 regional governments from 29 countries around the world and 7 associations of regions committed to the North-South dialogue and collaboration for sustainable development
The EIB is the long-term financing institution of the European Union and its mission is to help implement the EU's policy objectives by financing sound business projects. ESWET - The European Suppliers of Waste to Energy Technology is the European association representing manufacturers in the field of Waste-to-Energy Technology. The main purpose of ESWET is to foster the development and the dissemination of the Waste-to-Energy Technology, also called Energy-from-Waste. ESWET also seeks to raise the awareness of the positive implications of the technology in terms of better waste management, energy and for the environment. ESWET Members' technology is part of a sustainable waste management chain, most commonly referred to as the waste hierarchy, introduced in the EU Waste Framework Directive. ESWET believes that Waste-to-Energy has an important role to play both on the energy recovery and on the environmental aspects of waste management. Moreover, making a valuable contribution to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through better waste management, ESWET believes that the Waste-to-Energy technology is a solution to multiple challenges.
The Institute was established in 1995 as an independent academic organization with the mission to become a forum where academics and researchers from all over the world could meet in Athens and exchange ideas on their research and consider the future developments of their fields of study. Our mission is to make ATHENS a place where academics and researchers from all over the world meet to discuss the developments of their discipline and present their work. To serve this purpose, conferences are organized along the lines of well established and well defined scientific disciplines. In addition, interdisciplinary conferences are also organized because they serve the mission statement of the Institute. Since 1995, ATINER has organized close to 150 annual international conferences and has published over 100 books. Academically, the Institute is organized into four research divisions and nineteen research units. Each research unit organizes at least one annual conference and undertakes various small and large research projects.

The European Forest Institute (EFI) is a pan-European international organization. It has 29 Member Countries, and c. 120 member organizations from 40 different countries working in diverse research fields. EFI provides forest-related knowledge around three interconnected and interdisciplinary themes: bioeconomy, resilience and governance. With a staff of over 100 experts in several offices across Europe, EFI is in a unique position to generate, connect and share knowledge at the interface between science and policy. EFI puts increasing emphasis on cross-sectoral approaches in its research and development activities. It is thus in a good position to have efficient access to social, economic and environmental expertise covering all of Europe’s bio-geographical regions. The work in the field of policy support includes enhanced support for decision takers and policy makers. For example, the high-level forum on forests, ThinkForest, brings together high-level policy makers and leading European forest scientists to generate science-policy dialogue on strategic forest-related issues. EFI is quickly becoming a leading science-policy platform providing forest-related knowledge to build a sustainable future: connecting knowledge to action.
The European Science Foundation, ESF, was an independent, non-governmental organisation with up to 82 of the main research organisations in Europe as members. Through us, European researchers had an opportunity to work together across disciplinary and geographic boundaries. With science being a truly international activity this collaboration was crucial for both science and society in Europe.
The different activities embrace research, development and technology transfer as well as training projects with European industry, organization of national and international exhibitions, adaption of international research results, advising and search for partners for national and international projects, organization of special seminars and thematic networks throughout Europe.

The object of the European Association for Chemical and Molecular Sciences is to promote cooperation in Europe between those non-profit-making scientific and technical societies and professional institutions in the field of chemistry whose membership consists largely of individual qualified chemists/chemical scientists and whose interests include the science and/or practice of chemistry/ chemical sciences. It was founded in 1970 and currently has 50 member societies in 36 countries.
FEAD is the European Waste Management Association that represents the private waste management and resource industry across Europe. FEAD members are national waste management associations covering 20 EU and EFTA countries. They represent about 3,000 companies with activities in all forms of waste management. FEAD companies have an approximate 60% share in the household waste market and handle more than 75% of industrial and commercial waste in Europe. Their combined annual turnover is approximately € 75 billion. These companies employ over 320,000 people who operate around 2,400 recycling and sorting centres, 1,100 composting sites, 260 waste-to-energy plants and 900 controlled landfills.
The Institute of Geomatics (IG) was founded in 1997 as a public consortium, with own legal entity, composed of the Generalitat de Catalunya (local government of Catalonia) and the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC). Its mission is the development of geomatics through applied research and education in support of society, institutional and industry needs both at national and international levels.
OTTI (Ostbyerisches Technologie-Transfer-Institut e. V.) is a non-profit organisation founded in 1977. Its aim is the stimulation of the industrial economy and the support of the co-operation between science and industry. OTTI has a 30-person strong team who proffer seminars, specialist forums and conferences. About 5000 specialists and managerial personnel from business, administration and science take part every year.
MARE is an interdisciplinary social-science institute studying the use and management of marine resources. Its objective is to provide a stimulating intellectual climate for academics and policymakers in Europe as well as in the South. Although MARE limits its action radius to the social sciences, it seeks active collaboration with other disciplines. It strives to maintain a balanced mix of academic and policy-oriented research. AElDL was founded in 1988, in the form of a not-for-profit organisation. Its General Assembly is made up of local development stakeholders and specialists from various sectors of the civil society and European Member States. CEMBUREAU, based in Brussels, is the representative organisation of the cement industry in Europe. Today CEMBUREAU includes 28 Members (27 Full Members and 1 Associate Member). Currently, its Full Members are the national cement industry associations and cement companies of the European Union (with the exception of Cyprus, Malta and Slovakia) plus Norway, Switzerland and Turkey. Croatia is an Associate Member of CEMBUREAU.
