SAFE – Safe Food Advocacy Europe was created in 2015 out of a concern for public health related to food issues. One of the most influential factors of the EU’s food legislation is lobbying, indeed the large majority of EU legislation is influenced by lobbyists. There are more than lobbyists in Brussels, 70% of them are working for businesses, only 10% work for NGOs. Thus, SAFE was created to ensure that consumer’s health and concerns remain at the core of the EU’s food legislation. SAFE is the only NGO in Brussels focusing only on the protection and representation of EU consumers in the food sector. SAFE monitors the EU’s food legislation process and cooperates with EU legislators and its actors to draft comprehensive food regulations. Mission Strengthening the voice of civil society in the EU debate over food regulation, thereby reinforcing participatory democracy in the EU. Increasing public awareness of food safety issues, noticeably by organising training programmes and seminars designed to allow citizens to make informed decisions on the food they eat by learning how to read food labelling (additives, food colourings, MSG). SAFE is giving training to children and teenager in school to reduce excessive sugar and food colorants consumption. Our goal is to transform the entire polyolefin system from a linear to a circular one by bringing together organisations from every point in the polyolefin chain: brand owners, retailers, waste management organisations, recyclers, converters, producers and everyone else. Through dialogue and collaboration in working groups, PCEP is delivering innovative solutions to today’s barriers. Polyolefins are extremely valuable and versatile plastics. They are also vital materials if we want to decarbonise our society and have high quality, safe, eco-friendly lives. But we can't do that by simply throwing plastic away after we've used it. We must be responsible for the plastic that we produce ― and that means only making what we need, designing it for re-use in its first life, and then collecting, recycling and reusing it again and for as many lives as possible. PCEP is a collaborative organisation with three strategic goals for polyolefins: designing out waste; keeping maximum products and material in use for as long as possible; and then recycling into high-quality new raw ;

National Contact Points (NCPs) perform valuable services in guiding and supporting national applicants in preparing proposals for Horizon 2020 funding. We expect that through an enhanced cooperation and networking between these national entities, a higher quality of their consulting services and thus of proposals and projects can be achieved. Therefore, the overall objective of NCPs CaRE is to form a joint cooperation network of experienced and less-experienced NCPs on Societal Challenge 5 (SC5) “Climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials” which aims at pooling their resources and know-how to raise the overall quality of services provided to their clients. By involving 23 formally nominated National Contact Points across Europe, the NCPs CaRE project will significantly strengthen transnational cooperation. In addition, NCPs CaRE will extensively involve the 26 NCPs that have decided to become a “Partner Organisation (PO)”, associated partner. To harness synergies is especially relevant to SC5 NCPs, since potential applicants within this challenge are very diverse with respect to their scientific or organizational background, level of experience, involvement in transnational networks. Specifically, activities of NCPs CaRE towards this goal include, amongst others, teaming and twinning schemes, the compilation of best practices handbooks and manuals, events, meetings and trainings both on-line and on a face-to-face basis, as well as a wide range of other communication and dissemination tools and platforms. These activities foreseen by NCPs CaRE will contribute to enhancing the impact of R&I in SC5 and ensure a more efficient use of resources and R&I developments by improving the workflow between NCPs, applicants, the European Commission (EC), and other parties with a stake in SC5. Tailor-made like they are for the SC5 clientele, these activities will make it easier for all those participating, and benefitting NCPs to enhance the number of proposals with regards to both quantity and quality.

FEDARENE was created on 6th June 1990 by 6 regional authorities – Rhône-Alpes, Provence-Alpes-Côte-d’Azur, Wallonie, País Vasco, Aquitaine and Nord-Pas-de-Calais. Encouraged by different programs of the European Commission, these authorities wanted to make the voice of the regions heard in the debate on energy and environment policies at the European level. FEDARENE went from these 6 regions at its creation to 40 already in 1995. Following these dynamics, the Brussels Office was created in November 1991. Now FEDARENE counts more than 65 members in 17 countries. All from the beginning, FEDARENE served as a springboard for the creation of new agencies and as a crossroads for a wide array of agencies. These ones are not only the driving force behind the development of the network, but also play an essential role in policy making. They act both as producers of ideas on the regional, national, European and international levels, and as implementers of decisions emanating from these levels. The members’ diversity implies there is a vast array of competencies, thus providing solutions to almost all energy and environmental concerns. Locally, they raise public awareness through a diversity of actions, such as exhibitions, conferences, documentation services and meetings with local schools and professional bodies. They serve equally local elected officials and the public by helping and advising them. Since 2008, FEDARENE is part of the consortium of European networks (with CEMR, Climate Alliance, Energy Cities, Eurocities, ICLEI) which forms the Secretariat/Office of the renown European initiative: the Covenant of Mayors.
