For a Well-Balanced Transport Policy Depending on the situation or distance to be travelled, different means of transport meet different mobility needs so car drivers may also take a plane or train, or go by bike. And that's why the EAC advocates a well-balanced transport policy taking all modes of transport into account. The overall aim is to ensure transport consumer needs are at the forefront of transport policy decisions.​ Founded in 2008 in Brussels, EAC today represents the interests of a total of 3 million people. CEN (European Committee for Standardization) and CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) are recognized by the European Union (EU) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) as European Standardization Organizations responsible for developing standards at European level. These standards set out specifications and procedures in relation to a wide range of materials, processes, products and services. The members of CEN and CENELEC are the National Standardization Bodies and National Electrotechnical Committees of 34 European countries. European Standards (ENs) and other standardization deliverables adopted by CEN and CENELEC, are accepted and recognized in all of these countries. European Standards (ENs) contribute to enhancing safety, improving quality, facilitating cross-border trade and strengthening the European Single Market. They are developed through a process of collaboration among experts nominated by business and industry, research institutes, consumer and environmental organizations, trade unions and other stakeholders. HyER, the European Association for Hydrogen and fuel cells and Electro-mobility in European Regions (formally HyRaMP), was established in collaboration with the EU Commission in 2008. HyER supports the deployment and uptake of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies and electro-mobility in Europe to contribute positively to carbon dioxide emissions reduction, environment protection as well as economic growth and employment.
