Brexit means the UK government will regain control of inward migration of citizens from countries within the European Economic Area (the EU plus Iceland, Norway and Liechtenstein), and Swiss nationals. i In considering post-Brexit immigration, the Government will need to take into account the rights of EU nationals currently living in the UK, the mechanism for future EU migration, how the new regime will be enforced and any changes to the border.
