Mark Dooley is the head of infrastructure, utilities and renewables at Macquarie. Dooley has been involved in structured financing of infrastructure assets since the early 1990s. As a partner at an Australian national law firm in the early 1990s he was one of the pioneers of the Australian securitisation markets. In conjunction with this he also had a prominent role in the development of the infrastructure debt market. This resulted in landmark deals such as the Hills Motorway (M2) 27 year bond financing in 1994 and the bond financing for numerous accommodation PPPs through the rest of the 1990s. Dooley moved to investment banking in 1997 and continued to work on infrastructure and energy transactions.
