Nour's initiative underscores the significance of equipping youth with skills to navigate and critically evaluate digital content. Through her campaign, she advocates for responsible online behaviour and the protection of individuals' reputations and well-being. Join Nour in promoting media literacy and advocating for a safer digital landscape for Lebanon's youth. Let's work together to empower the next generation with essential skills for navigating the complexities of the modern media landscape! Meet Gresa Boshtraj, a dynamic influencer, entrepreneur, and digital content creator based in Pristina, the capital of Kosovo. Gresa's decision to pursue entrepreneurship and influencer marketing stemmed from her desire to carve her own path and inspire others to embrace digital opportunities. Gresa's key skills—entrepreneurship, proactivity, and maintaining a positive mindset—reflect her belief in empowering young people to thrive within their own country. She envisions a future where Kosovo's talented and hardworking individuals can achieve their dreams locally, reducing the need to seek opportunities abroad. In Kosovo, Gresa sees immense potential, particularly in technology, arts, and sports. However, she recognises the importance of addressing challenges and nurturing skills, especially in rural areas. Gresa advocates for uniting younger generations to focus on skill development and community growth. Gresa's journey exemplifies the transformative impact of embracing digital platforms and fostering a culture of entrepreneurship and positivity. She believes in the collective effort to educate and uplift Kosovo's youth, ultimately driving progress and opportunity within the country. NEMO Webinar | Rethinking museum accessibility strategies | Maria Chiara Ciaccheri
22 Apr 2024
NEMO - Network of Eu...
In this NEMO Webinar, accessibility expert Maria Chiara Ciaccheri shares thoughts on rethinking museum accessibility strategies. She presents actions to make the museum experience more inclusive and suggests how to promote change and accessibility beyond the museum walls. What does it mean to talk about museum accessibility today? What are the barriers and stereotypes that need to be broken down? How can accessibility promote change in cultural organisations and society at large? But first: what concrete actions should we take within organisations to bring about this change? For a number of years, many cultural institutions have viewed access as an issue of critical importance, yet the discussions remain problematic. The topic is increasingly present at conferences and specialised courses, while more and more institutions are investing in this area. Nonetheless, the discipline still struggles to establish itself as a shared mindset and remains superficial. To change its impact, in fact, it needs to be considered under a different light: by broadening the target audience and be viewed as a widespread, processual and, above all, strategic perspective that involve, step by step, the whole staff. The comments in the webinar are hidden to protect the identity of the participants. Thank you for watching! NEMO is the Network of European Museum Organisations, founded in 1992 NEMO represents more than 30.000 museums in Europe! www.ne-mo.org [email protected] Find NEMO on Facebook: @NEMOoffice Twitter: @NEMOoffice LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/company/nemooffice

ACE Conference: Sharing common values: Internationalisation of the profession & New European Bauhaus
9 Apr 2024
Architects' Council ...
With the globalisation of the economy and technological progress, architectural firms now have greater opportunities to collaborate and work on projects across borders, within the European Union and globally. According to the last edition of the ACE Sector Study, in 2022 5% of European architects worked in another EU Member State and two per cent outside the EU. The study also reveals that over the past year, 16% of respondents had seriously considered working in another EU Member State and 6% outside Europe, without however taking action. Moreover, an increasing number of architects are trained in countries other than their own, showing a genuine interest and growing capacity of the profession to move across borders. Therefore, there is every reason to believe that the potential for further internationalisation of the profession is strong, provided that professionals can find adequate support. The conference will aim to discuss the challenges inherent to cross-border work and export of services and present solutions to overcome barriers encountered by professionals, including tools and schemes offered by the European Union; guidance developed by the Architects’ Council of Europe; and support provided by professional bodies at national level. Architects who have successfully developed their business internationally will also share their experience. The ACE strongly supports the New European Bauhaus movement initiated by the EU Commission, as it helps to make the quality of our living environment a matter of public interest and elevates architecture to an unprecedented political level. Beyond business and entrepreneurial perspectives, the conference will also provide an opportunity to discuss the relevance of the NEB values, themes and principles for other parts of the world and emphasise the common values that unite the profession across the world.

To leverage it almost all workers and learners need training or up- and reskilling, so that they can acquire the green transition skills that changing job and task profiles require. Cedefop research highlights occupations and groups of learners, which should take priority in skilling for the green transition. Vocational education and training (VET) is crucial to equip EU workers and learners with the right skills, as well as to support the shift towards ‘greener’ mindsets. But how can VET become ‘greener’ so it can help shape and upscale the green economy? What must change in VET curricula and programmes in practice so that they reflect the skill needs the green transition implies? What practical tools can be used to make VET more aligned to, and supportive of, the skills revolution currently taking place?

Tackling the digital divide in the EU and beyond
5 Apr 2024
Cedefop
The European Year of Skills provides a unique opportunity to discuss in partnership how to make the twin transition – digital and green – a reality. The proliferation of advanced digital technologies, including generative artificial intelligence (AI), comes with concerns about how they will impact the world of work in Europe and beyond. While the issue of how many jobs will be destroyed by smart machines is prominent in academic and policy debates, there has been less focus on understanding the implications of technological innovation for skill mismatches and job quality. Digitalisation has the potential to expand productivity and to allow workers to focus on more non-routine and rewarding job tasks. In contrast, some digital technology promotes work routinisation and could take over a substantial share of what has long been considered ‘human’ work. Understanding who are the winners and losers from new digital technology in labour markets is crucial for digital and skills policy and its implementation; all the more so as persistent digital divides across and within countries and between population groups can amplify socioeconomic inequalities.

Inspiring skills matching policy
5 Apr 2024
Cedefop
The European Year of Skills offers a wide range of education and labour market actors exceptional opportunities to learn from one another and to translate evidence on skills and jobs into measures in support of economic and social ambitions. Over the past decade, many European countries have collected and analysed a wealth of data and evidence that help anticipate and match people’s skills to current and future jobs. But turning such skills intelligence into effective skills matching measures and practices for sectors, regions and communities can be challenging.

Valuing all skills
5 Apr 2024
Cedefop
The European Year of Skills puts the importance of having a skilled workforce to support the green and digital transitions in the spotlight. Having skilled and knowledgeable citizens is not just a matter of formal education (e.g. schools and universities). It is also critically dependent on learning acquired in non-formal or informal contexts, such as at work or during leisure time. Validation is a tool for citizens to demonstrate the skills they have acquired in these contexts. It facilitates obtaining qualifications, access to training, and job market entry.

Sectoral skills intelligence and strategies as drivers of the just transition
5 Apr 2024
Cedefop
Relevant and targeted vocational education and training (VET) programmes need to reflect insights of skills anticipation methods (such as skills forecasts, skill foresights, employee and employer surveys, big data analysis). Particularly in times of increased volatility and economic pressures, economic sectors are the hubs of change and innovation that can enable a just twin transition. A mix of suitable skills anticipation tools and methods, availability of data, capacity to handle and “translate” the data into actionable and policy steps are crucial. Sectoral skill strategies, built on high quality sectoral skills intelligence, place relevant stakeholders at the driver’s seat and call for a holistic skills governance approach, founded on comprehensive skills ecosystems.

Deep diving into skill shortages: what can we learn from Cedefop's 2023 skills forecast?
5 Apr 2024
Cedefop
The European Year of Skills is an excellent opportunity to take stock of how efficient skill systems are in developing, activating and ultimately matching workforce skills to the needs of the labour market. Skills drive the transition towards a greener, more digital Europe and help economies and societies become more resilient. Forward looking insight into labour market trends underlies evidence-based policy making, because it helps bridge the gaps between the supply of talent and what employers are looking for.
