The conference will provide an overview of the state of play in the implementation of the Services Directive and the main legal and practical implications, in particular: the direct effect of some important key provisions and the resulting implications; how to set up the system of mutual assistance and administrative cooperation among Member States, provided in Article 28-36 of the Directive; the exact role of the so-called "Points of Single Contact", destined to become the single interlocutors through which service providers can easily obtain all relevant information and complete all necessary procedures; the rights of the recipients of services and the related obligations for the undertakings acting as providers, according to Articles 19-21 of the Directive.
