For the second consecutive year, EMRC is organising its AgriBusiness Forum in Africa. Uganda, East Africa, was chosen to host the AgriBusiness Forum 2010 based on its efforts in drawing foreign investments.With over a third of its foreign revenue coming from agriculture and an attractive economic policy for foreign investments, the Ugandan Government has positioned the country as one of the top East African countries to attract Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). Uganda offers excellent business incentives to investors like free land for investment and tax free imports.The EMRC AgriBusiness Forum 2010, hosted by the Government of Uganda, will focus on Global Food security as a Business Opportunity. Subjects such as sustainable agricultural development, increasing agricultural productivity, the role of the private sector in securing food access, pre and post-harvest intervention, commodities, inputs and private-sector growth will be discussed. The AgriBusiness Forum 2010 will promote the creation of new partnerships, and follow up on existing partnerships.
