Identifying trauma and dealing with traumatised people

War and violence has an impact on people's individual well-being, their ability to relate to others and to rebuild trust, consequences that have been termed as "trauma". However, as widely used the term may be - it remains difficult to adequately understand traumatic processes in conflict and post-conflict settings leave alone to find adequate ways of dealing with them. Also, people deal and react differently to traumatic experiences due to their cultural and social background and context, but also due to the fact that not every individual who has gone through difficult and violent experiences necessarily suffers from traumatic "symptoms".
