AmCham EU's 28th Competition Policy Conference

Problems and Process: Competition Law and how we use it

The programme this year “Problems and Process: Competition Law and how we use it” features three distinguished panels that will explore 1) the changing role of judicial review under EU Competition law, 2) different approaches to fining in antitrust cases across Europe and 3) the evolving procedural rights in Europe.  The programme has been thoughtfully crafted and it is very timely to review developments on procedural rights and judicial review in antitrust cases, which are moving apace. With the adoption of the procedural changes for EU antitrust proceedings and the revised role of the Hearing Officer earlier this week by the European Commission, the Conference will serve as a discussion forum for long-anticipated developments in competition policy. An added bonus is that the new Chair of AmCham EU, Hendrik Bourgeois (Vice-President, European Affairs, GE), will deliver the Conference welcome address. We are equally pleased  to have Michel Petite (now Of Counsel, Clifford Chance) as our keynote speaker. He is a former Director-General of the Legal Service of the European Commission and legal advisor to three former European Commission Presidents.
