Dear Colleagues,After the great success of our first LAA - Left Atrial Appendage Closure - Workshop in 2009 and 2010 we are very delighted to inform you about the CSI Focus Workshop LAA 2011.This is a focused workshop based on the leading congress in the field of Congenital & Structural Interventions – CSI.Left Atrial Appendage (LAA) closure for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation has been shown to be at least as effective as anticoagulation therapy. It is becoming a very important treatment modality. Two devices already have the CE mark and several others have already been put in clinical trials. This course is designed to give you an overview on all aspects of this new treatment option; from its background to current clinical data, perform the procedure and finally deal with complications. The focus will be on live case demonstrations and interactive discussions.
