We are proud that Geneva has been selected to be the host city for the EAACI Congress 2012! Geneva is the second largest city in Switzerland but remains, to European standards, a small city. However, Geneva is known far beyond its borders, mainly due to the fact that the city has always had an international flavour. For more than 50 years now, Geneva has been the European capital of the United Nations and Geneva is hosting headquarters of several international organisations, including the World Health Organisation. In addition, the Geneva region has attracted several European or global headquarters of largemultinational companies. The charm of the city is enhanced by its large alpine lake, surrounded by mountains; Chamonix, with the Mont-Blanc (the highest mountain in Europe), can be seen from the seashores of Geneva, and is only one hour away. Switzerland is a very active scene for clinical and research activity in our field and the Local Organising Committee will build a Congress up to your expectations. It is only a short trip from many European cities to Geneva, be part of the annual EAACI Congress 2012. Geneva will provide EAACI delegates with all working and leisure facilities that you expect to make your stay enjoyable. We look forward to seeing you in Geneva!
