Conference background:  ICOLACE 2012 is a follow up to the original event in 2010 when educators and community workers from 12 countries met to share research, experiences and ideas regarding student lifewide learning and Education for Sustainable Development.   2012 Conference theme:  “Innovative programs for academic and character development towards the lifewide formation of students.” When:  Sunday 15 July:                                   RegistrationMon 16 and Tues 17 July:                 Formal conference activitiesWednesday 18 July:                           Optional visit to local Singapore schools to see student project work relating to lifewide learning and sustainable development. Conference location:Traders Hotel, 1A Cuscaden Road, Singapore Call for papers:Preference will be given to abstracts (around 250 words) submitted before 15 February 2012. Notification regarding acceptance will be communicated within 15 days of abstract receipt.  Conference presentations (PowerPoint) are required by 30 June 2012.  Final papers are not required until 31 August 2012 to allow for additions after conference.  Format requirements regarding presentations and papers will be notified to presenters at the time of acceptance.  The proceedings from the conference will be published online.  Registration:Registration is Sing$450 (approx Euro250 or US$360) due on 31 May 2012.  (Discount of Sing$150 if paid by 31 December 2011, Sing$100 if paid by 31 Jan 2012 or Sing$50 if paid by 29 Feb 2012.)  Fulltime student registration Sing$250.  Consideration will be given towards a concessional rate for participants from developing countries upon application before 15 May 2012.  Single day registration available for Singapore residents of Sing$125 per day.  Accommodation:A special package rate is available at the Traders for conference participants.  For further information please contact Ivy Yeo at Traders Hotel, phone 65 6831 4202.
