The seminar is organised by MAITRE - Media Actions for the International Training of Researchers - a European project supported by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme, aiming to give food and nutrition research a higher profile in Europe, by providing professional media training for reseachers (completely free of charge).The seminar will be held on the 09th - 10th October at the National Institute of Fisheries and Marine Research, in Lisbon, Portugal,  by senior professional journalists and will give the researchers hands-on experience and practical sessions on how to improve their communication ability to convey news and outcomes of their research to the general public. The seminar will give the researchers also the possibility to get into a network of other researchers and science journalists.The National Institute of Fisheries and Marine Research (IPIMAR) is the only governmental fisheries and aquaculture research laboratory in Portugal. It carries out strategic research and technological development on management and conservation of marine living resources, aquatic environments, pollution, toxicology and shellfish and fish aquaculture.
