Fighting Cybercrime: How Best to Cope with Current

2nd European Cybercrime Expert Forum

The 2nd European Cybercrime Expert Forum is a must-attend platform for exchanging information and experiences on all current topics related to detection, fighting and preventing cybercrime. With Experts from:European Cybercrime Centre at EuropolUnited Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC)European Space Agency (ESA)Ministry of Security and Justice, the NetherlandsCriminal Police Directorate, SloveniaNFI – Netherlands Forensic InstituteEco – Association of the German Internet Industry/Anti-Botnet-Advisory Centre Cyber threat environment has changed enormously in recent times and does so every day. There is no sector that has not been a victim of cyber attacks this year. Even major European and national institutions, the Police itself and big technology companies were affected. Not only has the extent of cybercrime increased but also the diversity of its forms. Attacks can have huge effects. States, institutions, citizens and businesses are equally exposed to this risk. Improvement is needed on European and national level: one step to combat cybercrime in Europe will be the new European Cybercrime Centre at Europol starting its work in 2013. However, also Member States themselves have to become active. At the 2nd European Cybercrime Expert Forum the current threats and developments in fighting cybercrime will be presented. Attendees will have the unique chance to discuss practical solutions for present challenges and strategies with speakers and participants involved in cybercrime law enforcement, investigation and legislation from all across Europe.
