Call for 8th International LIHE-Symposium: "Quality Enhancement of University Teaching and Learning". Co-organised by University of Akureyri Iceland. This symposium is designed for authors to get together to publish an international anthology, which show successful experiences with quality enhancement of university teaching and learning. We seek chapters which address the kind of questions sketched below and provide valuable insights into quality practices that have clearly helped improve university students’ learning outcomes.Three concepts set the scene for this anthology1. The concept of learning2. The concept of curriculum3. The concept of teaching and study methodsThe first concept addresses learning as both process and outcome. What is learning? How does learning take place? How is learning measured? Dealing with such questions will help produce a clear understanding of the link between quality initiatives at universities and students’ learning outcomes. The second concept addresses curriculum as both structure and process. What is curriculum? How does the curriculum structure teaching, study methods and learning? Which kindof processes can be facilitated by the curriculum? Such iscussions of the art and role of the curriculum will help produce a clear understanding of the link between curriculum and students’ learning outcomes. The third concept addresses teaching and study methods applied within the curriculum. What is teaching? What is a study method? What are the relations between teaching and study methods and students’ learning outcomes? What roles do different kinds of teaching and study methods play in the curriculum? Addressing these questions will help produce a clear understanding of the relationship between teaching and study methods and students’ learning outcomes.EDITORSThe anthology is edited by Dr. Professor Claus Nygaard, Copenhagen Business School; Dr. Nigel Courtney, Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at Cass Business School, City University London and Visiting Fellow at the University of Technology, Sydney; and Professor Lee Harvey, Editor-in-chief, Quality in Higher Education.PUBLISHERLibri Publishing Ltd., Brunel House, Volunteer Way, Faringdon, Oxfordshire, SN7 7YR, England.SUBMISSION PROCEDURESubmit on or before April 4, 2011 your CHAPTER PROPOSAL for the international anthology.
