The University of Trieste, in Trieste, Italy, has been selected for hosting a professional media training for food and nutrition researchers on the 21st – 22nd of February 2013.The University of Trieste is among the best universities in Italy for quality of teaching and excellence of research. It was ranked number one among Italian universities by the Times Higher Education in 2010 and it is among the top 500 universities in the world according to the QS World University Rankings 2010.The seminar is organised by MAITRE - Media Actions for the International Training of Researchers - a European project supported by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme, aiming to give food and nutrition research a higher profile in Europe, by providing professional media training for researchers.The seminar will be held by senior professional journalists and will give the researchers hands-on experience and practical sessions on how to improve their communication ability to convey news and outcomes of their research to the general public. The seminar will give the researchers also the possibility to get into a network of other researchers and science journalists.
