The 4th lecture of the IES Spring Lecture Series 2013: 'The Multilevel Governance of Migration and Immigrant Integration' organised by the Institute for European Studies and the International Center for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD).This lecture investigates how the EU enhanced cooperation with countries of origin and transit to strengthen its 'migration management' and also analyses the institutional and political characteristics of these cooperation schemes. This analysis will be illustrated with concrete examples of the EU-Turkey relations on migration and asylum.
