Lithuanian University of Health Sciences in Kaunas, Lithuania, has been selected for hosting a professional media training for food and nutrition researchers on the 19th - 20th March 2013.LSMU is a new appearance in the area of Lithuanian higher education. It is the biggest institution of higher education for biomedical sciences in Lithuania.LSMU consists of two main academies: Medical Academy and Veterinary Academy. The studies are conducted in the faculties, research institutes, and clinics. A total of 7031 students are studying the LSMU programmes. The University offers 22 programmes of 10 studying trends.The seminar is organised by MAITRE - Media Actions for the International Training of Researchers - a European project supported by the European Commission under the 7th Framework Programme, aiming to give food and nutrition research a higher profile in Europe, by providing professional media training for reseachers.The seminar will be held by senior professional journalists and will give the researchers hands-on experience and practical sessions on how to improve their communication ability to convey news and outcomes of their research to the general public. The seminar will give the researchers also the possibility to get into a network of other researchers and science journalists.
