Berkley Associates is pleased to offer this half day workshop on the financial auditing and control of EU funded projects, concentrating on the main central programmes (for example, Lifelong Learning, CIP, FP7).Financial audits by the Commission can lead to substantial recoveries and reimbursements, so it is essential to undertsand the process, prepare well and to ensure that major risks are identified. This workshop will provide practical suggestions and advice as to how to deal with the audit process. It will cover the background to the audit process, explain how audits are organised and via practical examples and case studies, detail how you can prepare and what will be the main focus of the auditors. It will also give you suggestions as to how to respond to the draft audit report. The workshop will be led by John Stringer, a UK Barrister, who has substantial experience of dealing with audits by the Commission services. Workshops numbers will be kept small so as to allow for plenty of time for discussion and questions. A period of time has been set aside at the end of the workshop for individual surgeries. Registration fee of 170 € excluding VAT (including all materials and refreshments)
