This event aims to provide an open discussion on the issue of generational renewal in European agriculture, engaging Members of the European Parliament, Members of European Institutions and young farmers from across the Union in the discussion at a crucial time in the CAP reform process.Young farmers’ measures in both Pillars of the CAP as proposed by the Commission are an important instrument to secure the future of EU agriculture and, in this context, it is essential that Europe’s young farmers and their specific situation are given strong attention at EU-level at this stage in the negotiations. The round table discussions will attempt to focus on the importance of young farmers to the future of the European economy at a time when youth unemployment is high and employment opportunities in the agricultural sector should be promoted. This event will be followed by a press conference in the Raoul Wallenberg Room ASP 5 G2 of the European Parliament, where CEJA President Joris Baecke and MEP Milan Zver, among others, will answer questions from the press.
